Enforce Strong Password

The Preferences Enforce Strong Password Screen is used to apply stronger password rules when creating OmniVista users (Security - Users & User Groups - User). By default, strong password enforcement is "On" (enabled).

• Enforce Strong Password - Click the slider to "On" to enable strong password rules or "Off" to disabled strong password rules, then click on the Apply button.

When a user login profile is created, a visual indicator on the Create User Screen will let the user know if they are meeting the password restrictions as they enter the password they want to use. In addition, a password generator option is also available.

Note: Users created when Enforce Stong Password is turned "Off" can still continue to use the same password even when Enforce Strong Password is turned "On". The strong password restrictions are not be applied to existing users, unless they attempt to edit their user profile after enforcement was turned "On".
