Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista Cirrus

Network Management as a Service

Preferred IP Ranges

The Preferences Preferred IP Ranges Screen is used to configure the preferred display IP address for devices in OmniVista Cirrus. When a device is connected to the network, it is assigned an IP address by the VPN Server to communicate with OmniVista Cirrus. Devices are also assigned a local IP address(es) (e.g., from a DHCP Server). The Preferred IP Ranges Screen is used to set a range of IP addresses within an assigned local IP subnet to display for the device in OmniVista Cirrus. If a device is assigned an IP address in a Preferred IP Range, the device will be assigned an IP address in the configured Preferred IP Range when it first connects to OmniVista. This IP address will be persistent and displayed in OmniVista Cirrus even if its Preferred IP Range is edited or deleted. If a device's IP address(es) does not match any of the ranges in configured Preferred IP Ranges, the device's DHCP IP address is used.

To configure a Preferred IP Range, click on the Create icon, complete the fields as described below to configure a Preferred IP Range, and click on the Create button. Repeat to configure additional ranges.
